Animation

The 3D Animation program is designed to develop the artistic temperament and technical skills that makes one a professional in the field of Computer Generated Imagery.This program combines the artistic as well as the technical aspect of Computer Generated Imagery. Student develops a range of visual and tactile exploration skills by working on a range of creative process. Visual research forms an integral part of the program and students are taught and then encouraged to apply them throughout the program. Figure drawing, Gesture drawing, Character Design, Location and Prop design, Posing for Animation, Storytelling, Storyboarding, Camera and Lighting techniques are key study elements. These provide the foundation to work within the computer assisted 3D environment and help in creating believable movements that utilize core animation principles. The Digital Media curriculum includes Modelling in 3D, Texturing, Lighting, Rigging, Animating, creating effects, Compositing and Editing. The course offers a wide range of opportunities for individuals to develop both practical and theoretical skills in any specialist area of animation. The course aims to address the demand for animators with creative vision and artistic talent.

Game Design

The Game Design program concentrates on studies relating to the theory and practice used in developing media rich, interactive, digital content. This program provides students a well-rounded skill set by addressing game theory, cinematics, art, animation, game mechanics, production methodologies, and also creative writing and storytelling skills. The course serves to train digital artists and designers seeking a career in game production and related industries. The students delve into design principles and documentation, the creative process and pre-production planning. The begin by creating Character, Costumes and Props designs along with Level Designing and Interface designing. They then progresses to developing In-game content using low-poly modelling, unwrapping and texturing, Rigging for game engines, collision models, implementing "rag doll" physics support, creating vehicles and finally exporting the game assets to different formats and engines. The course workfinds application on diverse platforms such as Personal Computers, Game Consoles and Mobile phones. This is all wrapped up with an in-depth look at the production process, project and team management techniques, and the business of games.

Game Development

The course builds a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding of Game Programming, Game Design and arms the students with skills that are needed in a professional environment. Student develops a range of visual and tactile exploration skills by working on a range of creative process. Visual research forms an integral part of the program and students are taught and then encouraged to apply them throughout the program. Critical knowledge of the Principles of Gaming, Level Designing, GDD, Game testing and Prototyping are also developed. Classes in Math and Physics for Gaming, Data Structure, AI for Games, Networking fundamentals set the critical knowledge required for game development. Game Programming skills begin with programming for 2D games with C++, J2ME, and Flash Scripting. They are then trained to work with graphic libraries of DirectX using which they are needed to produce 2D and 3D games and working with Game Engines. They explore the difference between PC and a Console by working on porting content for the Xbox.
